Bible verse for the day |
Words by the Wayside is a Registered Scottish Charity( SC041290), run entirely by volunteers, whose purpose is to spread the Good News that the Lord Jesus Christ is Real and there is peace with God available for you through Him. Bible ThoughtsPage 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4 | Page 5 | Page 6 ‘‘...I Have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.’’ (Philippians 4:11) The believer should always be looking to the Lord, accepting the day and the hour He gives, not longing, not looking, for bright days but using the day He gives as He gives it. The desire to enjoy things below must go, because of the things above casting everything into the shade. The glory of Christ eclipses the most beautiful things here, and what once would have awakened sensations of delight must now have no charm for us. “He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.” (Psalm 105: 17-19) The Christian believer doesn’t always understand or enjoy the situation they find themselves in. But He cares for you, the Lord is always in control, He knows the end from the beginning.
The secret to victory is obedience to our faith, this is what God expects you and me to have when he calls us; for all the steps and all the stops of a godly man or woman are ordered by the Lord. Our salvation is based on faith in Him, but our sanctification is based on obedience to Him.
Men and women of themselves or religious rites can’t make you A Christian. Neither can you learn to be A Christian. You need to receive the Lord Jesus as your own and personal Saviour. You must be born again. |
